Kiln-dried and select D grade. There could be occasional pin knots and other imperfections, but most boards are pretty clear. This material is S1S2E meaning one side is left rough, and the other side and edges are planed smooth. The rough side is often preferred as being exposed, but both sides are clear.

Cypress machines well, planes easily, and resists warping. Pre-boring at board edges will help prevent splitting. It nails and scores very well. It glues well, sands easily, and readily accepts finishes.
